Resonance of Fate Easy Machine Gun Xp
There are a few ways to make this game easier than it maybe should be, which is nice because the difficulty is a bit higher than maybe it should be to start with.
The best one I have found is using the Arena. The first thing you'll want to do is have access to the Tundra on Level 7 and up to Rank 20 in the Arena (so a few chapters into the game). There are two fights in the Tundra you'll be looking for. One will be comprised of all Shady Thug enemies and one will have all Gremlin enemies, both with a single Leader. Kill the Leader and you'll get 1-2 green hex pieces per battle. Any other combination of enemies in this area will result in blue or yellow hexes. Just flee from these to save time.
You can link some of the Terminals on Levels 7-9 to add bonuses for the drops, but it probably won't be all that necessary, especially if you have to farm to get them linked in the first place. It will still take a few hours, but it will be well worth it in the end!
Once you have plenty of the green pieces (73 minimum), link at least the two terminals found on Level 6 up through the elevator and into the Arena. These are for 1.5x Experience (70) and Double Effect (220). This will give you a base of 3x experience. Add in the EXP Trainer that can be earned from a Doll trade-in from Daniel for a total of 6x experience.
(Note: Before starting your grinding, customize your MGs so that they have very fast charge speeds. This helps do more damage (and earn more experience) for every turn you have, maximizing gains and minimizing times.)
Machinguns
Now, using Rank 20/Fight 3 in the Arena you will face three blob enemies. Kill the Bronze and Silver ones with normal handgun fire, then focus a dual-wielding MG user on the Gold one (assuming you have a second one). Have him wear Auto-Trigger and the EXP Trainer. Charge fully and let the Auto-Trigger shoot when your time is up. The blob will regen his Scratch damage instantly, allowing you to skip your other two characters' turns and repeat the process very quickly. You can use two characters on MGs, one each, or if you have unlocked another MG (purchase it in Ebel City during Chapter 12) you can possibly have all three characters going balls out on the poor little blob with one each. Whichever method you want, but all three getting experience would be ideal.
Warning: If your fully charged shots are scratching the blob to 100% damage, then you'll want to ease off. Only charge 3/4 or less so that you're damaging the blob to about 60% of its health. After 60% the blob does not regen instantly and the process will move much more slowly!
If you need to take a break or have enough experience, simply turn around and walk out of the fight via the red barrier. DO NOT KILL THE BLOB! This is considered a "boss" fight in the arena and the blobs only show up during this one single fight. Further battles during Rank 20 will revert to the same enemies you fought during fights one and two.
So, to recap:
1. Unlock the Tundra (Level 7) and Rank 20/Fight 3 in the Arena.
2. Farm Green hexes in the Tundra, link the two Terminals on L6 to the Arena.
3. Using one or multiple MG users, blast away at the Gold blob. (Only do 60% Scratch on him with each shot!)
4. Profit!
Note also that this method will earn you no HG or TW experience. However, considering all those do is convert Scratch damage for the most part, they are not all that necessary. MG is the key weapon to level and doing it this way will increase your health to enormous amounts at the same time. Once you have sufficiently leveled yourself to God status (getting Vashyron to MG 96 essentially breaks the game), feel free to put the little guy out of his misery and continue to rank up in the Arena for the achievements and breeze through the rest of the game, including Neverland.
Handguns and Throw Weapons
If you're completely done grinding out your MG levels and would like to level your other two weapons to get some extra health, go ahead and kill that little blob friend off. Now continue to unlock ranks in the Arena to Rank 45 (must be in Chapter 16 I think) and the enemies here, with all bonus experience, will grant two full levels per kill. Use your existing MG God to give them full scratch, then use whoever you want and whichever you want to blow away their shield, which will subsequently cause them to explode.
You can also use the Elderly Man method off one of the Chapter 16 side-quests. Since he has no shields, all damage will be converted immediately to experience. Use your MG God once again to fill him about 75% with scratch so you're in no danger of killing him off completely, then use whoever you want with HG/TW to break off that blue bar. Using your next character, turn around and flee the battle. Do this until your Bezels are low, then you can rest and save at the Base in Ebel just a few steps away.
