For oil painters who notice themselves eager to paint but reluctant to spend besides much time or money on surface preparation, you might try working on paper. Oil Absorption Test on Watercolour Paper (unsized 140 pound)

3 drops of Brine refined linseed oil, brushed oil, King's Bluish neat and Male monarch'south Bluish thinned with oil.

Test Conclusions:

Oil Paper with acrylic production, and 140# watercolor paper with two or more coats of acrylic product showed no oil penetration.

Oil Newspaper Training Tips

1. Smoothen the paper as much equally possible between coats then every bit to not reinforce the curling with boosted layers of acrylic.
